EDS Drama secures SYF Gold
Our 2007 production of the "The Ice Cream Truck" secured Gold in the Singapore Youth Festival this year - the first Gold in over ten years! - thanks to the tireless efforts of both the cast and crew. We have just received the judges' comments, the most poingnant of which are reproduced below:
"It's a very interesting and original story and could have touched a very significant theme if the whole play could have been approached from a more dramatic perspective." - Judge A

"A well constructed drama with its lead ups, conflicts and eventual resolution. The students have very good diction especially the girls, and of course "Brenda" [Tze Lin] and "Joanne" [Ele]. Joanne's control of voice was highly commended - also to achieve different emotions without resorting to shouting. Brenda's stage presence (probably a dance background?) was also strong. Staging was also effective and helped maintain pace in the play. Well done!" - Judge B
"A very poised performance by the lead actress was noted here. Other members of th ensemble were equally convincing and strong in their respective roles. However, the play could have achieved more if the pacing between the scenes was tighter." - Judge C
